Providing childcare for babies is different than caring for older children. Babies have special ways of communicating, specific nutritional needs, and individual routines. Our educators know and understand infants’ specific needs and ways of communicating so they can meet and provide each child’s individuality using a holistic approach by tuning into babies’ needs and let them eat and sleep on their own timetable.
Educators build trust by spending time one-on-one with each child and responding quickly to their needs. When children have a secure attachment, they feel safer and spend more time exploring their world.
Infants are always processing and putting together the world around them. Providing natural, loose parts resources will teach them cause, effect, and develop their creativity and imagination while increasing wonder and exploration.
Throughout the Nursery environments both inside and out the children in their play make use of the their senses – Touching, Seeing, Feeling, Moving, Smelling and Hearing. Providing opportunities for the babies to actively use their senses as they explore the world around them is crucial for brain development. This leads to a childs ability to complete more complex learning tasks and supports cognitive growth, language development, gross motor skills, social interaction and problem-solving skills also learning sensory attributions and enhance memory.
To name a few of our favourite experiences include story time, singing popular tunes (Open Shut them and Everybody Clap, creating Music with our Instruments and painting.
